@Sister: Pictorial evidence of what we started off with.
First 5 minutes: He does that painting you can see. I draw a few circles. He is not interested in painting on the paper. He is more interested in coloring the ‘waater’.
He paints the water and when he is satisfied with the color, asks for ‘kotta water Archana Pinni’.
@sista: 20 minutes in, i decide i can make you buy me a new travel paint box.
30 minutes in. Still going strong. He is happy coloring the water. I am the ‘kotta water’ errand girl. And last of organized painting session. And then, the fun starts.
He gets some on his hand. It really bothers the cleanliness freak in him. But he decides its time to go all in. The next two minutes are spent with the hand in the water cup.
P.amma joins in.
No longer interested in the paper.
He is made to take a sip of water from his sippy cup. As soon as the nanny leaves, he spits it into the paint and water and starts mixing it frantically.
Soon he is throwing the little paint blocks into the water and mixing it. And says “Archana pinni, payasam”. And he pours the water on the floor and starts painting on the dining table. Pedamma decides she has had enough.
He starts screaming “colors, colors” when we try to get him away from the mess. But he decides to go with me to watch the autos on the street.
End product. Sister, you owe me a paint box. :)
Finally, a picture with him. Too bad P.amma has to put this huge bottu on me !
Me: Arjun, enni auto-lu unnayi? Arjun: ” 1 2 3 !”
