Wanderlust: New York City

How would you describe New York to someone who has never been?

Visual treat. Photogenic. Best place to take long walks. The closest it comes to the globe being compressed into one big city.

What would you say is one New York clothing staple?

Shoes that are designed for walking. A bag to carry all the treasures.

shopping?

Mahogany chopsticks from China Town. Trinkets from thrift stores. Sales on 5th avenue. Chelsea market.

best place to stay?

If visiting the city wanting to be a tourist, a hotel will do. If you want to experience the New Yorker, find a great landlord who can rent you a room or an apartment.

The best place to  people watch?

Soho. And the subway stations across the city……

How does the city keep you up all night?

Live music. Long walks with him. Great food. Coffee breaks and people gazing out of the window.

A place that made you nostalgic for your running shoes?

All the bridges. All the streets lined with stores in Soho.

One touristy place that is a must go?

Central Park. On a bike.

Absolute favorite restaurant?

Khati Roll Company.

The best way to get around the city?

Walk. Subway.

And rent that bike, if you love outdoors.

A perfect day in New York ?

hummmm….. too much out there to pick …….
